You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Tampere University and the University of Jyväskylä as part of the Meaningful Digital Evolution (MDE) project. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the functionality and usability of an AI-powered interviewer tool. The tool will ask you a few questions about your physical activity habits outside of your studies.
This session consists of a short interview conducted by the AI tool. You will be asked questions about your physical activity and exercise habits as a student. The interview is conversational and adapts to your responses. You may respond by text or voice.
The following data will be collected during your participation:
Your personal data will be processed in full compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679). Your responses will not be linked to any directly identifying information. The collection, processing, and storage of research material is done using Tampere University's digital services, protected by username, password, and multi-factor authentication. No data will be transferred outside the EU or the EEA. Upon completion of the research project, all data will be anonymised and archived. The study will run until 31.08.2027.
There are no known risks associated with participation. The findings will be reported in aggregate form, which means that individual participants cannot be identified in the results. The research findings are intended to be published in relevant scientific journals. Although an AI-powered interviewer tool is used, it is used solely as a data collection instrument and does not make any decisions about or assessments of individual participants.
Participation is entirely voluntary. You may stop at any point during the interview without giving a reason, and doing so will have no consequences for you as a student or your relationship with the university. Since your personal data is processed based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data; request rectification of incorrect data; request erasure of your data; restrict processing; object to processing; data portability; and not be subject to automated decision-making. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja@om.fi, Lintulahdenkuja 4, FI-00530 Helsinki).
